Governor Spitzer to Speak on Campus on Wednesday, January 16

Gov. Eliot Spitzer has chosen Buffalo State College as the venue for the “State of Upstate” address, to be held on Wednesday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall. This historic event, an upstate version of the traditional “State of the State” address, is being heralded as a first for a New York governor. Faculty and staff are invited to attend.

We expect hundreds of guests, numerous media outlets, and enhanced security personnel to be on campus that morning. We ask all faculty and staff to consider parking on the west side of campus (lots F, F-1, G, L, L-1, R, S-1, and S-2) on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We would like as many spaces as possible to be available for guests on the east end of Rockwell Road (lot A) and in the lots near Rockwell Hall (lots T, U, W, X, and Y). Please see the campus parking map (PDF, 1MB) for more information.

We are honored to host this significant event. Please help us welcome Governor Spitzer and his guests to Buffalo State College. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and help in making this event a success.
