Feature Exhibition - James Marino: Bflo Watercolors

The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society is pleased to present an exhibition by artist James Marino in its Community Gallery. Co-sponsored with Autistic Services Inc. (ASI), the show, James Marino: Bflo Watercolors, features Marino's paintings of well-known Buffalo buildings and vistas. The show is now open and runs until Sunday, September 25.

An artist since he was a child, Marino is currently a participant of ASI's renowned Arts Works program. In the program, all people on the autism spectrum are encouraged to find their creative "voice."

Landmarks that are represented in Marino's work include the Historical Society as well as City Hall, the New York Central Terminal, the Gardener's Cottage at the Darwin Martin House, the Anchor Bar, the H. H. Richardson Complex, the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, and the Statler Building. Marino has also painted several artifacts on display in the Historical Society, which will be included in the exhibition.

Additional programming will be presented throughout the run of the show.

Collaborative museum programs with ASI also include "Music at the Museum with Autistic Services Inc.," a family event, on Wednesday, August 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and "The Arts and Autism," a panel discussion, on Wednesday, September 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
