Students enrolled in Introduction to Fashion Merchandising (FTT 150) are hosting clothing donation drives during the week of April 22 for refugees residing on the West Side of Buffalo. Everyone can participate by donating gently used clothing. Items that students are looking for include pants, jeans, sweaters, T-shirts, jackets, blouses, sweatshirts, winter items, shoes, and accessories. Clothing drives will also be hosted in all residence halls during the week. Clothing collected through the clothing drives will be given away to refugees at the Second New World New Wardrobe Clothing Giveaway, which will be held Saturday, May 4, at the Asarese-Matters Community Center.
On-campus drop-off boxes will be set up at the Campbell Student Union during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 25. Or you can e-mail student Lauren Poplawski or assistant professor of fashion and textile technology Vicky Oh to arrange personal drop-offs.
