Please join us for a presentation and discussion of two papers during the Economics, Finance, and Social Science Seminar tomorrow, March 14, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Campus House Boardroom. Ted Schmidt, associate professor of economics and finance, will present “Financialization of Commodities and the Monetary Transmission Mechanism,” in which he argues that financial innovations in commodity markets since 2000 have helped create a direct link between monetary policy and inflation. Tae-Hee Jo, assistant professor of economics and finance, will present “Financing Investment under Fundamental Uncertainty: A Heterodox Microeconomic View,” which provides alternative explanations for business investment decision-making under uncertainty.
