Posted: Monday, June 6, 2005DISPOSAL OF STUDENT RECORDS
Submitted by Mark Bausili, Registrar's Office.
Offices often clean out records over the summer. Please remember all records containing student ID numbers, grades or information traceable to a student must be destroyed. Paper records must be shredded. Tossing computer-printed lists or student files in trash or recycle bins is NOT appropriate. If you don't have access to a shredder on campus or you have a large volume of material, call Rich Saddleson, ext 3169. Failure to properly safeguard student information may result in a violation of student privacy rights as prescribed under federal law.
