I approve the recommendation from faculty in the Student Personnel Administration Department and from School of the Professions interim dean Kevin Mulcahy to change the department name. Effective September 1, 2011, the name of the Student Personnel Administration Department (SPA) will be changed to the Higher Education Administration Department (HEA). The change will be fully implemented in Buffalo State documents and processes during the 2011–2012 academic year. The department name change is in keeping with the approved degree title, which is now a master of science in higher education and student affairs administration.
