The following have been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the College Senate Curriculum Committee for fall 2021 review:
New Courses:
BIO 621 Terrestrial Ecosystem Ecology. Prerequisite: Undergraduate course in ecology. Exploration of the ecosystem concept in ecology. Interactions among organisms and their environment as an integrated system. Factors regulating pools and fluxes of materials and energy through terrestrial ecological systems. Structure and functional relationships, spatial and temporal patterns in ecosystem processes, and the legacy of response to past events. Offered occasionally, beginning fall 2022.
COM 316 Social Media in the Communication Professions. Prerequisites: COM 210 with minimum grade of C and COM 215 with minimum grade of C. Overview of social media usage within and on behalf of organizations. Introduction to social media history; ethical, legal, and privacy principles; functions, metrics, and practical application of social media strategies; and tactics in the communication professions. Offered every semester, beginning spring 2023.
Course Revision:
PSY 421 Physiological Psychology. Prerequisites: PSY 101 with a minimum grade of C and PSY 333. Focus on the brain, nervous system, endocrine and immune system, and their relationship to animal and human behavior. Includes psychosurgery, physiological basis of language, intelligence, emotion, motivation, motivated behaviors, learning, sexuality, abnormal behavior, perception, and motor behavior. Offered fall semester, beginning fall 2022.
