The following has been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the Senate Curriculum Committee for review and approval:

New Course:
HIS 349 Eastern European History: From Empires to Nations. Prerequisite: Upper-division status or instructor permission. History of Eastern Europe from 1500 to present. The legacy of the Habsburg, Russian, and Ottoman empires. The impact of the Reformation and religious wars. Napoleonic conquests, nationalism, and imperial response. The breakup of Ottoman rule in the Balkans and the formation of independent states. The First World War and interwar national development. The Nazi and Soviet occupations. National resistance to the Soviets during the Cold War. Reform and ethnic conflict since 1989.
