The following have been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the College Senate Curriculum Committee for spring review:

Course Revisions:
CNS 642 Technology and Conservation of Objects II. Prerequisites: CNS 640 and CNS 641. Corequisite: CNS 643. Exploration of the deterioration and practical conservation of various categories of materials and the objects made from them. Topics include historical methods of repair, currently accepted methods of conservation treatment, and the ethical and cultural sensitivities guiding treatment. This is the lecture portion of the object conservation treatment course reviewing treatment theory and practice, illustrated by case studies. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2020.

CNS 646 Technology and Conservation of Objects IV. Prerequisites: CNS 644 and CNS 645. Final seminar in a series of treatment courses for the object conservation specialist, intended to allow students to examine and treat a wider variety of objects. Requires independent decision making and problem solving. Short research projects are required for each treatment. All students undertake independent technical studies of art objects. In addition to practical treatment carried out by students, instructor presents regular seminar and demonstration workshops of additional treatment methods. Topics are selected based on the interests of those specializing in objects conservation. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2020.
