PSM 603 Topics in Professional Math and Science

The following have been received in the College Senate Office and forwarded to the College Senate Curriculum Committee for review:*

Program Revisions:

New Courses:
MUS 341 Chamber Music for Pianists. Prerequisite: Music major. For piano students who seek to gain experience working in small and large ensemble settings. Students are assigned to a chamber or large ensemble and must attend weekly rehearsals and coaching/master class sessions. Offered every semester.

MUS 365 Introduction to Early Childhood Music and Movement. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Exploring the methods used to guide young children’s music and movement development within a wide variety of early childhood music education settings. Requires approximately 12–15 hours of field-placement activities that support course objectives. Offered annually.

New Course and Intellectual Foundations Designation:
GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT
ARA 102 Beginning Arabic II. Prerequisite: ARA 101. Fundamentals of Arabic with emphasis on aural comprehension and spoken language, as well as developing the ability to read and write. Offered annually.

Course Revision:
MUS 119 Vocal Pedagogy. Prerequisite: Music education major. Cooperative class in teaching voice for pre-music educators. Vocal process and practical teaching are examined, discussed, analyzed, and practiced.
