Kendra, a young, aspiring writer and photographer, was killed in 1999 when a man suffering from untreated schizophrenia pushed her in front of a subway train. As a result, Kendra's family and the Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC) fought to prevent further tragedies in the community by promoting new legislation to help seriously and chronically mentally ill individuals.
