Faculty, staff, and administrators: Online registration for Commencement is open. The Class of 2017 eagerly anticipates celebrating graduation at the 145th Commencement on Saturday, May 13, in the Sports Arena. Your participation in the most auspicious campus event of the year makes it especially meaningful for our graduates and their families. Please honor them by marching in the procession or serving as a volunteer usher to help with graduate lineup or to greet and guide guests.

Degree and certificate of advanced study candidates will attend their ceremonies by school as follows:

9:00 a.m. ceremony for bachelor’s degree candidates: School of Education, School of the Professions, University College (Individualized Studies)

1:00 p.m. ceremony for bachelor’s degree candidates: School of Arts and Humanities, School of Natural and Social Sciences

5:00 p.m. ceremony for master’s degree and C.A.S. candidates: the Graduate School

Volunteers ushers register at http://commencement.buffalostate.edu/volunteer-ushers. Marchers, including all Platform Party members, register at http://commencement.buffalostate.edu/marchers. The rehearsal schedule is posted at http://commencement.buffalostate.edu/rehearsals.

Note about regalia: The bookstore will take orders for regalia rentals until Saturday, April 15. (Order by March 14 if you wish to use regalia for both Honors Convocation and Commencement). Information with pricing is posted on the marchers page. A limited number of doctoral gowns will be available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis in the Academic Affairs Office. Marchers provide their own hoods, either owned or rented. Please e-mail to make arrangements to borrow regalia.
