From the Chief Diversity Officer
Posted: Wednesday, September 9, 2015Title IX Fall 2015
A Title IX memorandum was e-mailed to all students and leadership of Buffalo State College on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. This annual notice to the Buffalo State community provides valuable information about Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 that prohibits sex discrimination in education.
It reads: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. Title IX extends protections against discrimination to educational institutions for students, faculty, and staff.
Please download the Title IX poster (PDF) that is familiar across campus, the residential halls, and on our website. It will also be in the next edition of the Record. We urge you to familiarize yourself with this protective tool, readily available on the campus of Buffalo State.
If you have any questions, please contact the Equity and Campus Diversity Office: 878-6210, Cleveland Hall 415, or eeoequity@buffalostate.edu.
