From the Vice President for Student Affairs
In order to provide increased support for student retention and graduation at Buffalo State, I am creating within Student Affairs a unit called Student Success, encompassing the offices of Orientation and New Student Programs, Residence Life, and Student Life. I am pleased to announce that Daniel Vélez will lead this unit as associate vice president for student success. Vélez will continue to serve as campus liaison to the Child Care Center. My office will conduct a search to replace Vélez in his role as assistant to the vice president.
Timothy Ecklund will be responsible for housing and auxiliary services as associate vice president for housing and auxiliary services, focusing on leadership of Buffalo State’s ongoing initiatives to plan for the renovation and building of residence halls, with Kris Kaufman and Curtis Brickhouse serving as director of housing and associate director of housing, respectively.
I am appointing Sarah Vélez as director of the Campbell Student Union, reporting directly to the vice president for student affairs. In this role, she will be responsible for the management of the Campbell Student Union, coordination of student events and activities, and service as my designee to the United Students Government (USG).
