Change in "Double Dipping" Rule in GE2K, GEC, and Intellectual Foundations

The restriction preventing "Double-Dipping" between major courses and core requirements in GE2K, GEC, and Intellectual Foundations has been removed effective immediately.

The new policy says: "Each student may use courses to fulfill both major requirements and Intellectual Foundations requirements, or those of other General Education categories."

What does this mean? Any major courses which also apply to an Intellectual Foundations, GE2K, or GEC core requirement, may now be used to fulfill both requirements.

This change was applied to Degree Navigator on November 17, 2008, for GE2K and GEC, and on October 30, 2008, for Intellectual Foundations, and applies to all students in these general education areas.

Students are advised to review their audit http://www.buffalostate.edu/registrar/dn4student.xml to see if this policy change has affected distribution of courses. This change may cause students to adjust the courses they choose for spring 2009.
