A workshop, Friday April 1, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210, will demonstrate building search and evacuation procedures in response to a threat incident. The first hour will cover the classroom material on the tactics involved, while the second hour will be a tactical exercise for our team.
Half of the team will act as victims/students, while the other half will be the CERT members acting on instructions from team leaders and UPD. The team will assign roles, perform the search, and then safely extricate any victims/report on suspicious devices discovered. We hope to have some members of the ATFE or Erie county bomb squad on hand to offer their expertise on the activities.
