The African and African American Studies Interdisciplinary Unit (AAAS) invites students, faculty, and staff to a lecture by Carl Wilkens, Thursday, October 29, 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center North. Carl Wilkens was the only American who stayed in Rwanda after the 1994 genocide started. His decision resulted in preventing the massacre of hundreds of orphans between April and July 1994. His story has inspired many in the USA, in Rwanda, and around the world.
