Candidate Presentation: Dean of University College and Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Education

The search committee for the dean of University College and associate vice president for undergraduate education invites the campus community to a presentation by Scott Johnson, candidate for the position, on Monday, April 27, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center South 2. All are welcome to attend.

Johnson earned a doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University and came to Buffalo State in 1994. In addition to his faculty responsibilities in the Criminal Justice Department, he served as coordinator for the African and African American Interdisciplinary Studies Unit for six years. In 2004, Johnson was appointed assistant dean for First-Year and Academic Support Programs in University College and has served as interim dean of University College since summer 2008. He is a recipient of the Buffalo State College President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Recently, he participated in Buffalo State’s Achieving Success through Leadership Program and in the 2008 Millennium Leadership Initiative offered by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
