Become a Service-Learning Faculty Fellow

"Incorporating service learning in my course is much easier than I imagined. The VSLC assists in finding
appropriate projects, supporting students, and ensuring effective partnerships to support student learning. It
makes the opportunity accessible for faculty and valuable for student learning."
— Eric "Luke" Krieg, chair and associate professor, Sociology Department

Join the 70-plus Buffalo State faculty members who have worked with the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center as service-learning faculty fellows to engage more than 8,000 Buffalo State students in community-based learning. Service-learning faculty fellows acquire an in-depth understanding of service-learning pedagogy through an exciting three-day workshop facilitated by nationally recognized experts in service learning. Participants are also supported through the process of converting an existing course or creating a new course that incorporates service learning. This year's faculty fellowship training will be held May 22, 23, and 24.

Applications are due Friday, March 8. Apply now! For applications and information, visit the VSLC website.
