A reception to the celebrate the artists featured in the Artists/Educators exhibit in the Czurles-Nelson Gallery will take place today, April 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Upton Hall lobby. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served.
The special exhibition, sponsored by the Art and Design Department, opened March 23 and closes today. The exhibit features the work of artists who take on the enormous task of educating our youth while still creating artwork of their own to share. These artist-educators are some of our invaluable community partners. They provide essential real-world learning opportunities to our preservice art teachers—allowing them into their schools and classrooms, acting as mentors, and working with us to ensure that the torch of visual arts continues to be passed on to new generations. This exhibition allows our college community to enjoy their artwork, but it is also meant as a gesture of gratitude for all the great work they do with their own visual art students and our Buffalo State art education students.
