Artists on the Road Series - 'Traveling to Vancouver: Weaving Tapestries' - February 15

Lucas Colon, a fiber major in the Art and Design Department, will present "Traveling to Vancouver: Weaving Tapestries," on Thursday, February 15, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in the newly renovated Upton Hall 230. His talk is the first in the spring 2018 “Artists on the Road: Travel As a Source of Inspiration” series.

Most of the tapestries Mr. Colon observed as part of his research were made with very thick materials—quite the contrast to the nearly thread-like materials he used on his previous projects. “One small summer research project changed my life!” he said.

The “Artists on the Road” series is co-sponsored by the Art and Design Department and the International Education Office. For more information, please contact Carol Townsend, associate professor of design and coordinator of design foundations, at 878-4986.
