'Artists on the Road' Series Continues with Shirley Hayes: March 19

Shirley Hayes, associate professor of art education, will present “How Traveling Alone Can Be the Best" on Thursday, March 19, at 12:20 p.m. in Upton Hall 230. Hayes's talk, part of the spring 2015 series “Artists on the Road: Travel as a Source of Inspiration,” will feature her recent extended trip to Torremaggiore, Venezia, Milano, and Cinque Terre in Italy as well as Barcelona and Madrid in Spain.

"Travel expands one’s worldview, and especially one’s understanding of culture, life, and art," Hayes said. "It broadens who we are and our ability to relate to others."

Her lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Design Department and the International and Exchange Programs Office.
