Archaeology Lecture: 'Neutrals on the Frontier: Constructing the Lake Erie Hatiwendaronk Niche' - April 18

Martin Cooper of ASI Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, will present "Neutrals on the Frontier: Constructing the Lake Erie Hatiwendaronk Niche" on Wednesday, April 18, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. in the Cummings Room of the Buffalo Museum of Science.

Mr. Cooper's talk will summarize over three decades of research in the southeastern Niagara Peninsula, focusing on the Neutral Iroquoian community that resided there during the seventeenth century. This research involves archaeological surveys and excavations as well as detailed environmental reconstructions, providing insight into the cultural ecology of this enigmatic group.

This event is sponsored by the Houghton Chapter of the NYS Archaeological Association and is free and open to the public.
