Appointment: Interim Dean of University College

Scott L. Johnson has been appointed interim dean of University College and associate vice president for undergraduate education effective June 1.

Johnson joined Buffalo State’s Criminal Justice Department in 1994. He holds a doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University, and his research and teaching interests are in ideology and theory, race and crime, and constitutional law. His many campus involvements include engagement with the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) program. He was a CASTL fellow in 2002–2003. Johnson was appointed assistant dean for first-year and academic support programs in University College in 2004.

An internal search to fill the position will take place this summer.
