America on the Move - Tip of the Day

While we're counting our steps and improving our health, let's be careful not to cause an injury. People are living longer, on the move more often, and frequently placing additional stress on their knees and hips. How can we continue to work harder to improve our fitness and assist our knees and hips to last longer with integrity. These are the two largest joints of the body and they must bear your full body weight while allowing for a wide range of motion. That makes them susceptible to injury and arthritis. An informative report covers a wide range of knee and hip conditions and describes treatments, preventive strategies, and surgeries in detail can be accessed at (www.health.harvard.edu) Materials were prepared by the editors of Harvard Health Publications in consultation with, Scott David Martin M.D., assistant professor of orthopedic surgery, Harvard Medical School and Attending Orthopedic Surgeon, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, Mass.
Here's to your health!
