Aimable Twagilimana, Professor, English

Aimable Twagilimana, professor of English and coordinator of the African and African American Studies Interdisciplinary Unit, gave one of the two keynote lectures at the inaugural conference of the Global Citizenship Institute that took place at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Buffalo, October 6–7. Sponsored by the University at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, and Harris Beach PLLC, the conference brought together Western New York superintendents, principals, teachers, and other community leaders. The conference's two main themes were social justice and cross-cultural education. Twagilimana's keynote lecture was “Global Citizenship, Human Rights, and Social Responsibility.”
