Laura Klenk and Dianne McCarthy, associate professors of elementary education, literacy, and educational leadership; and Thomas Reigstad, professor emeritus of English, attended the Item Review Conference for the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations, sponsored by the New York State Education Department and the Evaluation Systems Group of Pearson, December 9 and 10 in Albany, New York.

Along with other educators from around the state, they scrutinized item bank expansion questions for possible use in future state teacher certification exams. They reviewed test items for content accuracy, adherence to development criteria, and overall quality. Dr. Klenk reviewed items for the Literacy Content Specialty Test, Dr. McCarthy reviewed items for the Multi-Subject: Teachers of Early Childhood Test, and Dr. Reigstad reviewed items for the English Language Arts Test.
