Kim Chinquee, Associate Professor; Aimee Levesque, Lecturer; and Thomas Reigstad, Professor Emeritus, English

The English Department's Kim Chinquee, associate professor; Aimee Levesque, lecturer; and Thomas Reigstad, professor emeritus, participated in The Great American Read, which aired on PBS in late spring through early fall.

The eight-part series explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey). The series featured entertaining and informative documentary segments, with compelling testimonials from celebrities, authors, notable Americans, and book lovers across the country.

Levesque conducted a two-person panel interview that included live callers, and participated in the finale discussion when the winning book was announced. Chinquee and Reigstad were interviewed by Buffalo and Erie County Public Library director Mary Jean Jakubowski about what makes a great novel.
