Bill Raffel, associate professor, Communication, took 12 students from his Introduction to International Studies class (IST 100) on a field trip to Toronto, Ontario, April 24–26 to experience the different cultures studied during the course. They visited the Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, Chinatown, and the Kensington Market in addition to having an African drumming lesson. In between, they ate at Brazilian and Ethiopian restaurants. The class is an introductory course for the interdisciplinary international studies minor offered through University College. Raffel is coordinator of the minor.
