Sue McMillen, professor of mathematics, provided professional development to teachers at Tapestry Charter School on October 9. Tapestry is one of Buffalo State's Professional Development Consortium partners. The topic, "Tape Diagrams in the Common Core," was aimed at supporting teachers as they implement the Common Core math modules this year. Tape diagrams are a visual problem-solving model that empowers students to understand and solve math word problems.
