Michael Johnson, associate professor of modern and classical languages, presented "Braving the Phainomena: Exploring Visual Structures in the Classical Mythology Classroom" at the 56th Annual Institute of the Classical Association of the Empire State, held at the University at Albany, in Albany, New York, October 25 and 26. He also read his paper "Every Myth Is Awesome: Ancient Building Bricks in the Lego Movies" in the SF/Fantasy track at the 30th annual conference of the Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, November 7–9.
