Howard Henry, Lecturer Emeritus, Health and Wellness

Howard Henry, lecturer emeritus of health and wellness, has published a new book, Saving Buffalo Baseball: The 1956 Buffalo Bisons (NFB Publishing, July 2022). The book takes readers through the on- and off-field struggles of community ownership, following the team’s month-by-month, game-by-game saga from September 1955 to the hard-scrabble conclusion of the 1956 baseball year. Henry, who at age 14 saw Luke Easter hit his first home run as a Bison at the home opener in Offermann Stadium on May 2, 1956, served as an adjunct faculty member in the departments of Social Work and Health and Wellness, and as a volunteer in the International Education Office and International and Exchange Programs for over 20 years.
