Curtis Haynes, Associate Professor, Economics and Finance

Curtis Haynes, associate professor of economics and finance, will present “Black Political Economy: A Bridge between Economics of Scarcity and Abundance; A Perspective” on Wednesday, February 23, at 2:30 p.m. as part of the webinar “Racial Capitalism and Black Political Economy,” sponsored by the Association for Social Economics (ASE).

ASE fosters research in the relationship between economics and broader questions of human dignity, ethical values, and social philosophy. This webinar in honor of Black History Month brings together a panel of experts to discuss the interconnectedness of race and capitalism, consequences, and potential solutions.

Dr. Haynes’s fellow panelists will be Rhonda Sharpe, from the Women’s Institute for Science, Equity, and Race; and Leon Prieto, from Clayton State University. The moderator will be Jessica Gordon Nembhard, from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
