Kimberly Hart, Assistant Professor, Anthropology

The exhibition What Josephine Saw: Twentieth-Century Visions of Rural Anatolia, curated by Kimberly Hart, assistant professor of anthropology, will open on June 11 in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations. The accompanying catalog, published by Koç University Press, will have versions in English and Turkish. The project is the culmination of a six-year study of the Powell photographic archives at the RCAC and Harvard University. The catalog includes pieces by a number of scholars and friends of Josephine Powell's and a piece by the curator of the Powell archive at Harvard, Jeff Spurr.
