Rivers, a recent graduate and McNair scholar, presented a talk, “Students Reflect their Level of Understanding Through Non-Verbal Backchanneling,” at the fourth conference of the International Society for Gesture Studies, held in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany, July 25–30.
