Gerhard Falk, Professor Emeritus, Sociology

Gerhard Falk, professor emeritus of sociology, has published his 27th book, Religion and Social Change: The Influence of Religion on American Culture (Algora Publishing, 2018). Drawing parallels and contrasts between Catholicism, mainline Protestantism, and Judaism, Dr. Falk talks about history and philosophy, political campaigns, social movements, popular music, and literature. He shows how religious traditions influence us and how they affect politics, social stratification, and even the military. The book was featured in the October 2018 issue of Wish Journal (p. 33; PDF, 14 MB), a publication of the Buffalo Jewish Federation.
