Accessibility is a priority at Buffalo State, and the Buffalo State Accessibility Team reminds all faculty and staff members that the following accessibilty workshops will be offered this fall. All workshops will meet in Bulger Communication Center 122 unless otherwise stated. Each workshop title or date is linked to the Workshop Registration System. Assistive Technology Resources and Training

11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m
The availability of assistive technology and its use on campus by students, faculty, and staff members are on the rise. This training workshop will provide hands-on experience for attendees to learn to use Texthelp Read&Write and the accessibility features available within the Windows and Mac operating systems. The JAWS screen reader program and Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition programs will be demonstrated to increase the understanding of the functions and how users interact with these tools. Attendees will have an increased knowledge of technical needs to work with all the software.

Making Accessible Content: Word and PDF
Thursday, October 11
10:00–11:30 a.m.
Buffalo State is engaging in an effort to promote accessibility of materials on the web and within all courses. This hands-on session will focus on how to use Microsoft Office Word effectively to create accessible Word files that can be converted to accessible PDFs along with converting scanned image PDF files to accessible formats. Please have access to a Word and PDF document either in OneDrive or on a flash drive that can be used during this session.
