26th Annual PDS Conference: September 24

Buffalo State College faculty and staff members are invited to the 26th annual Buffalo State PDS Conference on Friday, September 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall. We will celebrate Buffalo State's 150th anniversary!

We will have a panel of alumni hosted by Wendy Paterson, dean of the School of Education, discussing education past, present, and future. The 2021 New York State Teacher of the Year, Jennifer Wolfe, will be the keynote speaker. The conference also includes three rounds of various sessions in the afternoon. There is something for everyone. Please check out the agenda for all the details.

We are trying something new this year, piloting a hybrid format using the platform Whova to allow for easier accessibility for our school, community, and international partners.

Registrants will have the option to attend in person (on the Buffalo State campus), virtually (synchronous), and asynchronously at a more convenient time for them. Whatever way you choose to participate, please register using the Whova platform by Thursday, September 16. As a reminder, this event is free!

Be sure to follow the next steps after receiving confirmation of a successful registration from Whova. There are next steps for everyone, and there are color-coded next steps depending on how you plan to attend the conference.

Whova is a very user-friendly platform, but if for some reason you need assistance, they have step-by-step attendee guides to help you.

Please email Keli Garas-York, professor of elementary education, literacy, and educational leadership, if you have questions. We appreciate your feedback on this new format. Evaluation forms will be available the day of the conference.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
