The Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences in the United States (ACPSS) will hold its 20th International Conference on October 17–19 at Buffalo State College. The conference is being sponsored in collaboration with the Buffalo State Center for China Studies (CCS) and the University at Buffalo Confucius Institute (UBCI).
"Challenges and Opportunities of Sustainability in China and Beyond: Environment, Health, Justice, and Other Emerging Social Issues" is the conference theme. Registration for the conference will be held on Friday, October 17, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. outside Bulger East in the Bulger Communication Center.
The conference will officially begin with an opening ceremony on Friday, October 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall. Buffalo State president Katherine Conway-Turner will offer welcoming remarks, followed by a keynote speech by Ouyang Kang, professor and dean of the Institute of State Governance at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
On Saturday, October 18, concurrent sessions will be held in the morning in the Social Hall, Assembly I, and Assembly II in the Campbell Student Union. At noon, participants will enjoy lunch and a bus tour of Niagara Falls, with concurrent sessions resuming at 4:00 p.m. and the annual dinner at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 19, concurrent sessions will be held in the morning and the conference will end after lunch.
