Wet-into-Wet/Wet-on-Dry: Waterscape with Boat - October 8

The Burchfield Penney Art Center will host the watercolor workshop "Wet-into-Wet/Wet-on-Dry: Waterscape with Boat" on Saturday, October 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants will work on several watercolor techniques beginning with wet-into-wet followed by wet-on-dry applications to create a waterscape with award-winning Western New York watercolorist and national workshop instructor Kathleen Giles.

"My art has become such an all-encompassing force in my life that I am always involved in some aspect of it," Giles said. "I value the artistic relationships with my students and the endless opportunities to grow and learn that teaching affords me. I am continually challenged and inspired to use all that I know but also to be open to fresh ideas and techniques."

This workshop is part of the International Center for Watercolor Artist Inspiration Series. The cost of the workshop is $70 for members and Buffalo State faculty, staff, and students; $80 for not-yet members. For more information, including a supply list, please visit the Burchfield Penney website or contact Kathy Gaye Shiroki, curator of museum learning and community engagement, 878-3549.
