Webinar: Once the Policy Is Written; How to Effectively Implement Your Disciplinary Policy

This web conference will address the common challenges in enforcing policy and the campus disciplinary process as they relate to sexual assault cases, the Office for Civil Rights "Dear Colleague" letter, and new Title IX guidance. This will serve as an opportunity to discuss and provide guidance on the primary concern with victim confidentiality and campus safety. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring questions to this webinar.

The webinar will be facilitated by Lindy Aldrich, deputy director of the Victim Rights Law Center, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she manages the daily activities of the VRLC. Aldrich continues to represent victims of sexual assault across the commonwealth in a wide range of legal areas, including her specialty of federal and state government benefits. She coordinates the VRLC’s pro bono panel, the Rape Survivors Law Project, providing trainings and case facilitation for attorneys and paraprofessionals throughout Massachusetts. She is also a trainer on the VRLC’s national Technical Assistance grant, which provides consultation and referrals to legal providers with sexual assault civil cases throughout the country. She is currently a member of the Boston Bar Association 2009 Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP) and the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service Advisory Board. Aldrich attended Florida State University and Suffolk University Law School. Prior to attending law school, Aldrich had a 10-year career in advertising and marketing.

The webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center 120 and is sponsored by the Violence Intervention and Victim Advocacy initiative. For more information, please contact Liz McGough, ext. 4029.
