Ways to Help during the Coronavirus Outbreak: Make a Card

The Civic and Community Engagement Office is providing information about ways faculty, staff, and students can be active citizens and support our community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Want to make a difference from home? Compeer Buffalo (serving all of Erie County) is looking for people to create cards with messages of hope and support that it can mail to its clients. Compeer has over 400 clients and welcomes as many cards as people are willing to create.

Also, if you enjoy talking on the phone, then this role is for you: Compeer Buffalo is also seeking volunteers to serving in the role of phone buddy to provide weekly support over the phone to an adult (age 18-59) or older adult (age 60+) client who is waiting for an in-person one-to-one match volunteer. Compeer serves individuals living with depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses.

If you are interested, please contact Lisa Johnson, (716) 883-3331, ext. 312.
