Tell Students: Teach in Houston, Texas - Meeting October 19

Christopher Shively, assistant professor of elementary education and reading, will host an informational meeting to discuss teaching opportunities in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, October 19, at 4:30 p.m. in Bacon Hall 116A. Aldine Independent School District (AISD) and Houston Independent School District (HISD) are offering student teaching placements for elementary and secondary math and science teachers. Dr. Shively will describe the demographics of the districts, discuss the benefits and stipulations of teaching in Houston, and answer financial questions. All education students are welcome, even if they are not going to student teach for a few semesters. Please visit the district web sites, AISD and HISD, before coming to the meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting but are interested, please direct questions to Dr. Shively or subscribe to the Teaching in Texas Remind message center.
