Tell Students: Food for Fines at Butler Library

Butler Library will forgive $1 in overdue fines for each food item donated (up to 10) at the library's circulation desk during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week October 19–23.

Donations must be nonperishable. Glass containers and expired items cannot be accepted. Needed items include pasta and sauce, granola bars, cereal, peanut butter, canned fruit, and pasta or rice side dishes. Donations will be given to the Buffalo State Food Pantry.

Fine forgiveness applies to regular overdue fines only, not to lost item fees, interlibrary loan fees, equipment loan fees, bus pass replacement costs or fees, or ID card replacement costs or fees. Only donations taken in through the library's circulation desk will count toward the Food for Fines program. Please visit the library’s circulation desk for more details.

This event is held in association with Buffalo State's Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.
