Tell Students: Clothesline Project for National Crime Victims Rights' Week - April 20

Please join us Thursday, April 20, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) in Caudell Hall 123 to make a T-shirt for our Clothesline Project in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) April 23–29. NCVRW has challenged the nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. During NCVRW, we celebrate the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement and reflect on how far we have come. Traditional college-age students are at highest risk for intimate partner and dating violence. The Clothesline Project  takes the adage “Don’t air your dirty laundry in public,” which was meant to keep silent about “personal issues,” and turns it on its head. The Clothesline Project provides an opportunity for students to create T-shirts with anti-domestic-violence messages to raise awareness about intimate partner violence. Once created, the T-shirts will be “hung on the line” for display in the Social Work Department for NCVRW. Students can collect their T-shirts in May. T-shirts and supplies provided. Refreshments will be served.
