Rooftop Poetry Club Features Robin Brox and Kristina Darling

Join the Rooftop Poetry Club for a reading featuring poets Robin F. Brox and Kristina Marie Darling on Tuesday, September 25, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library's International Students Reading Area (third floor SE quadrant).

Brox is a poet, book artist, and teacher who lives on Buffalo's West Side. She has degrees from the University of Maine and the University at Buffalo and has been teaching and writing professionally since 2003. The founder of Saucebox, a performance series turned small press, Brox produces handmade books and hosts poetry readings featuring female writers. Her book Sure Thing was published by BlazeVOX [books] in 2011. Her poetry has appeared in the Buffalo News, Artvoice, Lungfull! Psychic Rotunda, and other journals. She has published several chapbooks, including an excerpt from a weirdly fun four-part poem written with the help of Google Translate software, "A. Concoct Key Gush Run," an instant mini-chapbook from Binge Press (2010), and others under the Saucebox imprint. Brox's next book, Pomegranates, is forthcoming from Xexoxial Editions. She is proud to be part of Buffalo Poets Theater, for which she acts as technical and assistant director.

Darling is the author of eight books of poetry, which include the forthcoming Petrarchan (BlazeVOX [books], 2013) and Palimpsest (Patasola Press, 2012). Her awards include a Yaddo residency, a Helene Wurlitzer Foundation Fellowship, and an artist grant from the Kittredge Fund. She is currently working toward a Ph.D. in poetics at the University at Buffalo.
