Rooftop Poetry Club Features Morani Kornberg-Weiss

Please join the Rooftop Poetry Club for a reading featuring Morani Kornberg-Wiess on Tuesday, October 9, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library's International Students Reading Area (third floor SE quadrant).

Kornberg-Weiss moved from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Buffalo to pursue a Ph.D. in English in the University at Buffalo's Poetics Program. Her scholarship revolves around the Israeli-Palestineian conflict and its literary manifestations, protest poetry, postcolonial literature and theory, the lyric tradition, and ekphrasis.

Her poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Omnia Vanitas Review, Kadar Koli, the Last Stanza, Voices Israel, Re-Vision, Papilio, and Genius Floored. Kornberg-Weiss's translation of Miracles and More, written by Israeli poet Karen Alkalay-Gut, was recently published by Keshev (Tel Aviv, Israel). She hopes to complete two poetry manuscripts, titled "Folding into Her Self" and "Dear Darwish," later this year. She currently lives in Buffalo with her husband, dog, two cats, and massive owl collection.

Open mic slots will also be available.
