Removal of Deleted and Quarantined E-Mail

Effective October 8, 2005, Computing and Technology Services will be implementing an automated procedure to clean up old messages in your Deleted Items folder (in Outlook) and your Barracuda quarantine folder.

Messages in your Deleted Items folder that are more than 90 days old (based on date received) will be permanently removed from the mail server.

Messages in your Barracuda spam quarantine inbox that are more than 90 days old (also based on date received) will be permanently removed from the Barracuda inbox.

The bulk of old messages will be deleted when the process is initiated on Saturday, October 8. Messages that become 90 days old after that date will be removed on a nightly basis.

Please call the Computing Help Desk at ext. 4357 if you have any questions.
