Reception: 'Art As Witnessing; Art As Envisioning' - Today

The exhibition Art As Witnessing; Art As Envisioning is now open in the Czurles-Nelson Gallery through Wednesday, October 18.

A reception for the exhibition will be held today in the Upton Hall foyer (outside the Czurles-Nelson Gallery) from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome!

This Anne Frank Project 2023 exhibition, part of the AFP 2023 Social Justice Festival, is a group show of artworks by campus faculty and student artists centered on responding to the world by using one of two perspectives: art focused on witnessing, showing us “this happened or is happening,” or art that incorporates envisioning, imagining that things can be otherwise. Together, these perspectives provide a foundation for teaching, learning, and making art through a social justice lens.

Please contact Marie Bogner, Czurles-Nelson Gallery coordinator, (716) 878-4390, with questions.
