I am pleased to announce that Gary Welborn, associate professor of sociology, has been appointed coordinator of community engagement as of spring 2013. Recently a finalist for the Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award, Welborn will further his commitment to service learning and civic and community engagement through this new role. He will work with the Service-Learning Oversight Committee and others who are interested in exploring ways for Buffalo State to further develop its commitment to community engagement activities that benefit students, faculty, and community members.
